Objective The aim of the course is to teach and train students in Ophthalmology and techniques of ophthalmology. Duration of Course 2 Years Eligibility +2 with science subject or Pre Degree with Physics, Chemistry and Biology The course is aimed at training students in Ophthalmology and techniques of ophthalmology OBJECTIVES To train the students to acquire knowledge and skill in testing of glasses, retinoscopy, identifying common eye diseases, conducting camps and taking active role in prevention of blindness.
COURSE DURATION The duration of the course is two years
One year at the teaching centre 6 months in mobile unit 6 months in PHC
ELIGIBILITY 40% Marks in Science subjects in 10 +2 or equivalent from recognized university or Board of examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. Relaxaton of 5% marks will be allowed to SC/ST candidates.
Age should not be less than 17 years. Candidate shall be between the age group of 17-35 yrs. Selection to the course will be strictly on merit
